Parent Support Group Meeting for the Indian Community - November

Disability Connect is pleased to host another Indian Families Support Group meeting (for families raising a child with a disability) in Clover Park, South Auckland.  Our second meeting at the Clover Park Community House location is Tuesday evening 8th November.  We welcome all Indian families raising a child with a disability.  The support group will be informal – a chance to meet and make new friends and gain valuable support and connections from similar families – while enjoying our complimentary light supper -  and at 8pm a brief talk by Lisa Martin about recreation, holiday programmes etc. This will be handy for the upcoming summer holidays. Disability Connect is delighted to host another South Auckland Parent Support Group meeting for Indian Families raising a child or supporting a person with a disability.
This meeting is additional to the regular one we hold at Mt Richmond Special School.  It will follow a different format – a relaxed ‘conversational’ environment, you can talk amongst yourselves, make new friends, connect for support between 6.30pm-8pm, then Lisa Martin (CEO) will discuss recreation, holiday programmes and other services available from 8-8.30pm.
We are trialling this new venue, new day and new time to cater for the community need and allow all to come.  Children are welcome to attend as long as they are supervised by a parent or sibling.

Please let everyone who might be interested know about this group meeting – we are welcoming, warm and approachable and want to provide a supportive environment where everyone is free to chat, ask questions or just be surrounded by others in a similar situation.

At Disability Connect we work inclusively and cross-culturally with the ethnically diverse community of Auckland.
If you are a professional working in the disability sector, there will be a $50 charge for attending this families support group.
For catering purposes it is important to register for this meeting. You can register by emailing Disability Connect admin@disabilityconnect.org.nzor asoka@disabilityconnect.org.nz.  You can also phone 09 636 0351 or text Asoka 027 457 8571 to book over the phone.
